Why do you need a coach?

Coaches have very specific skills that help you solve your own problems, make your own decisions, and create your own masterpieces. Each of these skills corresponds to an action that we often find difficult to do on our own:

  1. Coaches ask challenging questions. You have the right answers, you just may not be asking the right questions. Coaches ask questions that help you see the solutions you are uniquely capable of developing.

  2. Coaches reflect your ideas back to you. Coaches are careful listeners and can sift through a lot of information and emotion and synthesize them back to you in useful ways. Often when you hear your ideas repeated, you make connections that lead to creative action.

  3. Coaches help you practice. Do you want to ask for a raise? Fire an employee who has not met the standards? Coaches will practice difficult conversations with you and help you find the language and the confidence to do the right thing.

  4. Coaches hold you accountable. Coaches are willing to push you as much as you wish to be pushed to meet your goals.

  5. Coaches celebrate your wins with you. Leadership can be a lonely role. Many times our greatest successes can’t be shared widely. In the safety of the coaching session, you are free to celebrate your growth and success.
